Happy Halloween!

I better get to posting about Halloween before it's Thanksgiving. I don't know why I feel so flustered and behind lately. I even completely forgot to take Sipsey to dance yesterday! She has been going every Monday since September. Although this shouldn't be a very big deal, I think it is the sudden realization that I have to plan a 4 year old birthday party in between everything else that has to get done for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we're also trying to get a house here and the process is ridiculous! I'm fully expecting them to ask for a vial of blood or for our firstborn child next!

The Thursday before Halloween, one of our friends invited us and another family over for homemade pizza and pumpkin carving. I'm a Scrooge and would not have even carved a pumpkin had she not invited us over (we are still in a rental that I don't care if we have cute anythings sitting out on the porch!). I think I have been converted though, because we had so much fun!

Sipsey wouldn't touch the pumpkin guts.

Then she got a little more brave.

Ours is the kitty cat bat.

They were so proud!

On Halloween, Sipsey's preschool walked to the nursing home 2 blocks away and sang them Halloween songs! It was not her normal day to go to school, but I couldn't let her not participate! These little tots warmed the hearts of the those who got to hear them sing. It warmed my heart just watching them!

Can you spy Dorothy?

This little pumpkin was in attendance also.

Then we came back to her classroom for a Halloween party.

We finally got them lined up and standing still (except mine and her partner in crime)!

That night, the same friend invited the same group over for chili and then trick-or-treating after.

Sipsey and her friend Claire who would only call her Dorothy that night! They had been to 2 houses and Sipsey was already digging into the treat bag!

Wow! Somebody has some pretty impressive pumpkin carving skills! We are doing good to get two eyes and a mouth out of ours. I guess I'm a Scrooge, too. We didn't even carve one this year or make it to the pumpkin patch...just ran out of time!
