Last Saturday was a beautiful day and we woke up and knew exactly where we would spend it - The Birmingham Zoo! We have a membership, which really means it's okay if we go and only stay for an hour because Sipsey has become unmanageable and has pitched a fit lying down on the concrete because of who knows why! Not that that's ever happened but we always have the option of acting like that and leaving in a hurry and not worrying about losing the cost of admission. We like to get to the Zoo right when it opens at 9 am to avoid the crowds. We leave right before lunch and the lines to get in are unbelievable! Our favorite attractions are the native Alabama animals, the train, and the lions and tigers. I think later in the summer the splash area and the bubbles will be added to our faves. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful resource 10 minutes from our house!
These beautiful roosters are part of the Alabama animals.
Sipsey loved saying COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!!!!
Ben, the nature aficionado, noticed this nest of swan eggs right in the corner of their pond.
Mama swan got a little nervous when the crazy photographer lady got a little too close.
We saw Sipsey's friend AJ and walked through the cat exhibit with her. They were so happy to see each other!
About to ride on the train. CHOO CHOO!
