I told myself I would stop counting Sipsey's age by months after the age of 2, but it really does matter if you are two and 2 months or 2 months shy of turning 3! If people ask, I simply say two, but for blogging purposes, I'll stick with months for awhile.
A few things about Sipsey at 26 months:
A few things about Sipsey at 26 months:
- She can sing songs (and very well I might add) like Twinkle twinkle, B-I-B-L-E, ABCs, Old McDonald, Barney theme song (I Love You!), Rock-a-bye Baby, You Are My Sunshine, and Rock-a my soul.
- She can count to 10 and will stop, but can go to 15 if prompted.
- She can recognize many letters of the alphabet. Her daycare has really taught her a lot in the past few months.
- She still LOVES babies and spends most of her playtime dressing and undressing them and diapering them. She must wear "dubs" (gloves) while changing diapers, just like her teachers at school. When I pick her up in the afternoon and there are baby dolls lying face down all over the room with blankets on them, I know Sipsey has been playing babies.
- She sleeps from 7:30 until 7:30 and plays and sings in her crib until we get her up in the morning. After lunch she takes about a 2 hour nap.
- She still loves to be rocked before bed and requests Rock-a-bye baby "just ONE time." Once we start to rock her, we go through ALL the songs listed above. When we're all done and she can't think of anymore songs, she says, "OK go to bed!"
- Potty training! At home, I would say she is 78% trained. She goes #2 in the potty pretty much all the time at home. I think #1 doesn't bother her as much if she goes in her diaper. At school, I hear she tries to go #2 in the potty, but by the time she lets a teacher know and they stop what they are doing to take her down the hall to the bathroom, it doesn't always happen in the potty. But she always lets them know! Otherwise she uses the potty at least 2-3 times each day at school.
- Her terrible two's aren't that terrible yet. She gets frustrated when trying to do something herself ("I DO IT!!!!") but she knows to ask for help instead of getting angry. She's a very smart girl with a sweet heart. She's growing up too fast!

It is so hard to believe she is 2(or 26 months to be exact)!
Lauren she is such a little cutie and the pictures really seem to show her personality. How great is it that she sleeps for so long?!? I hope you and Ben are well I would love to see you guys sometime!
I love all your pictures. Seriously, Sipsey is the CUTEST thing ever...her personality just jumps out of those pictures.
Keep them coming!
Wow! She can do so many things, more than Luke can, as far as the counting and singing songs. But boy, he can carry on a conversation with you! I just love to hear them talk at this age; it's soooo sweet! Haven't done much potty training yet, but he is starting to get interested. As far as the terrible twos go, my experience has been that they come and go...a couple of weeks of torture, followed by a few weeks of angelic behavior!
So cue. She is precious and smart. I'm impressed with her potty training. Mary Selwyn has been going #1 in the potty for 9 months but she is terrified to go #2. She can do it and has before but she screams and cries and begs for a diaper. I have no idea what to do. Bribes don't work, nothing works actually. So way to go Sipsey! And Singing songs is the cutest thing I think kids do.
I LOVE the back tickling picture, the cutest!!
SO CUTE!! I love the last 2 pictures!
Oh my gosh I can not believe that she is 26 months!! She is so beautiful and sounds like she is hilarious and keeps yall laughing!! So PRECIOUS!!
