War Eagle (a little early)!

Here is one of my newest creations. It's a little big because I made the size 2 so that Sipsey could wear a turtleneck underneath once the weather gets cool. I am really having a lot of fun sewing. It's amazing that you can MAKE something out of cut pieces of fabric. I think sewing is so appealing to me because there are set patterns to cut out and directions to follow. I love following directions. I will not be the one to make additions/changes to the patterns thankyouverymuch. I will follow the directions just as they are written!

Thank you Meredith for my bows! This one is perfect for football season. You are so sweet to make them for me AND then mail them to my house! I really loved opening the package all by myself.

Enough pictures!

How old are you?
This pose is also the one when she tells us ,"Shhhhhhhh!" after her baby doll goes night-night.

And just added to the blog, a full-length photo so you can see the cute ruffle at the bottom. I haven't washed this yet, so that's why it's wrinkly.

Not Much Going On

Not much has been going on here. We have been taking it easy...well Sipsey and me anyway. Ben defends his thesis next Wednesday (August 5). Please keep him in your prayers. He turned in his dissertation last week and is now preparing to defend all his work over the past 4 years! It will be a big day for him and we will be celebrating that night to say the least (assuming all goes well, which I know it will!). I haven't taken any new pictures, but I have been sewing a lot! I'll take pictures of Sipsey's new outfits to share. I made her an AU outfit to wear during football season. I can't wait for her to wear it, and I can't wait for football season to begin! I finally transferred all my cell phone pictures to our computer, so I'll entertain you with these old pictures.

Sipsey and her "fat jowls" at her 1 year checkup. Two different people have told Ben that Sipsey looks just like him and that they have the same "jowls." Hilarious!

Driving Sipsey home by myself in the snow in March! I have missed all the big Snow Days in Birmingham for the past two years because I was in Dothan. It snowed on me while driving from Ozark to Troy.

Sweet girl sleeping on another trip home from Dothan (by myself again). Sleeping in the car is rare so I had to take a picture to prove it was true! And by the way, I sleep with my mouth wide open.

And finally, Sipsey with her new favorite snack in June. Ok, more accurately, she loved blueberries the first time, then she hated them, and now she loves them again. You never know what you're going to get with this girl! Mealtime can be challenging.

Yum! She took one right out of my fingers!

Frank Austin "Branscomb" Beavers, Jr.

My great friend Julie, who I was a KD with at Auburn, had a baby boy on Saturday. He came ON his due date (what are the chances of that?) and was 6 lbs, 1 oz and 20 inches long. What a tiny baby! Julie and Branscomb are such proud parents and I know they are going to be wonderful parents too! Please pray for them as Branscomb is taking the bar in 2 weeks, their house is not complete from a master bed/bath addition, and Julie is staying with her in-laws (eek!) until after the bar and the house is move-in ready. Julie has really great in-laws and they will take good care of her, but I know they are ready for the next 2-3 weeks to be OVER! Here are some pictures of the sweet baby and new mommy!

Popsicles

After a visit to the zoo one day, I decided to let Sipsey try out a popsicle for the first time. I think she's in love. It was a little difficult for her to figure out how to push it up from the bottom, but she figured out how to get it out pretty quickly! We shared a couple with the neighbors who were playing out in the kiddie pool that day. I tried to put Sipsey in the pool, but she was just as happy leaning over the side splashing water onto herself. It was a great way to wash off all that stickiness!

Bama Air Dogs

On Tuesday night, I took Sipsey to see the Bama Air Dogs at our local library. I was worried about it being past her bedtime (6:30) but she did great! Ben went to the Baron's baseball game with his future lab colleagues when he starts his postdoc in the Fall, so I was on my own. We do EVERYTHING as a family, so I was very nervous. We got there early and got a great patch of grass! So basically this man rescues dogs about to be euthanized and trains them to catch frisbees! It was a lot of fun. He played pop music, which Sipsey loved. We were so close that one little dog got distracted from the frisbee and came over to visit Sipsey and me during the show! We scratched on him a minute and then he went on his way! Sipsey lost interest towards the end when she saw her friend Anna June. I couldn't understand why she wasn't looking at the "DAWGS" anymore. When I finally turned around, I realized who she was staring at! After the show, they gave out slices of watermelon. I enjoyed mine and Sipsey wanted nothing to do with it. We went to the pond to visit the ducks, then went home to go night night. I'm so glad we took advantage of what our tax dollars pay for! Now if I can convince them to have story time outside, we'll be set!

I'm not great at taking action pics, but you get the idea of what was happening right in front of us! I'm not zoomed in at all in this pic.

Hello Mommy!

Somebody's getting sleepy. This was after the show right before we went to see the ducks.

My sweet little angel with a halo around her head...oh that's just the setting sun. What's that? You love her adorable outfit? Want to know where to get one? That would be straight from my sewing machine, thankyouverymuch. I'm very proud of my bubble and will be crankin' out lots more for the rest of the summer!
