I'm very glad that I didn't spend much money on Sipsey's bedding. Her new favorite thing to do is peer over the edge of anything, including chairs, baskets, the tub, her highchair, and her crib bumpers! Each section of bumper now sags inward from her pulling it down and peeking over the edge. She pulls so hard, that some of the ties will come undone, and then she chews on the ties. I would take them out, but she rolls all over the place before she falls asleep, and I know her arms or legs will get stuck because they do at daycare. The cribs at daycare are along the wall, and Sipsey sticks her chubby little legs out as far as they will go and pushes off the wall and the crib goes gliding across the floor. I've seen it with my own eyes. I substitute there when I don't have class {It's not really that far. Don't be concerned; I send my child to a great daycare!}. On a few occasions, I've heard of the legs getting stuck, which results in crying babies and the teachers coming to rescue the roly poly legs from the death grip of the crib! So the bumpers will stay until Sipsey rips them off the ties, which might not be too far away!

Three's Company
A few weeks ago, Sipsey and I traveled to Dothan for a few days, and we FINALLY made it to Enterprise to visit my high school friend, Lauren, and her TWIN BOYS!!! They are just a few weeks younger than Sipsey, so they are just the right ages to be playing with each other. It was so fun to watch them interact. Sipsey would reach over and touch their arm or leg and think it was so funny, but when they did it back to her, she cried. She's in daycare with babies all day; I don't understand why she doesn't like other kids in her space. Maybe she'll grow out of it. Thanks Lauren for letting us visit! I wish we lived closer and could do it more often!

8 months old
Today Sipsey is 8 months old! She is such a sweet baby. It is so hard watching her grow from a baby to a little girl each day that passes by. I finally stopped nursing last week, so Sipsey is taking a bottle all day now. Below is a normal day (if I don't have class) for us in the Beck household. This may be boring to most people, but I like to look back on this for my own personal use. Skip to the pictures if you don't feel like reading!
7:30 AM
Takes a nap until lunchtime, usually until 11:00 or 11:30.
11:30 AM
Has a 6 oz bottle and then 1 or 2 jars of baby food. She plays for about 2 hours and then she's sleepy again. If we have errands to run, this is when we leave the house.
1:30 PM
Takes a nap until about 3:00 or 3:30. If we are out and about, she skips this nap.
3:30 PM
Has a 6 oz bottle for a snack and maybe will eat some Puffs too. Plays until sleepy!
5:30 PM
7:30 AM
Sipsey wakes up, eats 8 oz formula, then as much breakfast as she wants, which usually includes a jar of fruit or oatmeal and some pieces of banana. Then I'll put her in the jumper in the bathroom doorway while I shower and get ready until she gets sleepy.
9:30 AM Takes a nap until lunchtime, usually until 11:00 or 11:30.

5:30 PM
Sleeps again for about 1 hour. I'm trying to figure out how to stop this naptime but she insists on having it, so I'm letting her until she changes her mind. I'd love for her to stay awake until dinner time, but she just can't she's so sleepy. I guess if we got up earlier, this naptime would occur earlier and not so close to dinner, but I'm not willing to wake up earlier, so 5:30 nap it is! Ben and I eat dinner around 6:00 while she is sleeping.
7:00 PM
Has a 6 oz bottle, eats dinner, plays, takes a bath (she takes big girl baths now!), and then plays more until sleepy. Goes to bed around 8:30 (sometimes 9:00) and sleeps until 7:30 AM.

Sipsey's Photo Shoot
Well after many weeks of anxiously awaiting our appointment day to get here, we finally got our pictures made. Here is the link to the slideshow Jason created:
We have about 200 pictures to go through, but the best ones are on the slideshow. I don't know how I'm going to choose. Let me know which are your favorites. I already have a few in mind, but I'd like to know what y'all think too!

AaaaaaaCHOOOOO!
Sipsey is a great eater. At daycare, they say she eats like a trucker! She has not tried anything she doesn't like, except for peaches. I think she'll grow to love them though. Sipsey likes sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, carrots, corn, squash, macaroni & cheese, bananas, pears, applesauce, apples & blueberries, apples & cherries, bananas & mixed berries, and pretty much anything you put in front of her. If the tiniest drop of food falls onto her highchair, she sees it immediately and will be distracted by it until you wipe it up. The other day she sneezed right after I had put a whopping spoonful of peas into her mouth. Talk about specks of food to look at! I wiped them up quickly before she had the chance to investigate them with her hands. You can see her looking at them intently in the last picture. At least I know her eyesight is good. She can spot a mess to get into from a mile away!
Sipsey's First Haircut or The Mullet Toss
Well, we decided it was time to cut the mullet. We loaded Sipsey up in her Bumbo (borrowed from our very kind neighbors!), and I chopped it off! Her mullet was actually just a sheet of hair that was really long for some reason. It must've been the hair that was on the back of her head when she was born. There was shorter hair under it just waiting to see the world, and last night was the night. Her hair looks SO much better now. I'm glad we decided to cut it. I saved what we cut! I think I'll tie a ribbon around it and put it in her baby book!
