Beach trip 2010

We just got back from a marvelous week-long trip to the beach. Because this was Sipsey's first real time to see the beach (she was 3 months old last time), I didn't know how she would react, but she loved it! We made the mistake of taking her to see the beach after her bath the first night and she already had on her pjs. That was a big mistake. She was grabbing huge handfuls of sand and throwing them up in the air. She also loved the Gulf and ended up falling face first into a wave and loved it! As we were leaving, she said, "Bye sandbox! See you later!" I'll let the pictures narrate our trip.

Sipsey took a bath with her cousin Mark, who was thrilled.

beach02
Sunday was overcast but there was not a cloud in the sky the rest of the week. Sipsey loved smashing my sandcastles and finding seashells for me.

beach03
Mark loved the beach too.

beach04
So serious!

beach05
Sipsey took long naps with her babies.

beach06
She also loved on Mark.

beach07
She had lots of playground time (thank goodness for a playground).

beach08
Mark learned to eat sand---handfuls and handfuls of sand.

beach09
Sipsey fished with Ben. She was truly thrilled about this! Ben had just jumped in to rescue Sipsey's bow.

beach10
Learning about her first catch.

beach11
I wrapped Sipsey up like a mummy after pool time and she fell face first into the asphalt with no arms to break her fall. I can't believe she didn't lose any teeth!

beach12
We also caught fish in the Gulf.

beach13
Sipsey is so proud of her "pish!"

beach14
Sipsey rediscovered Gerber Lil Crunchies. She ate Mark's entire can.

beach15
The beach makes me hungry!!!

beach16
We saw a pirate ship that fired a cannon. I halfway expected the Goonies to swim ashore.

beach17
We also had tea parties in the pool everyday.

beach18
We sure wish we lived closer than over 5 hours away!

Mother's Day 2010

I'm not one for Hallmark holidays, but I did have a very nice Mother's Day today with Ben and Sispey. We went to church and then ate at Irondale Cafe for lunch. Ben got Sipsey down for a nap while I started Week 2 of Couch to 5K. I have a wonderful app on my ipod that plays whatever music I choose and tells me when to run and when to walk. I would definitely not be participating if it weren't that easy (and if the weather weren't so nice!). After Sipsey's nap, Ben watched her while I engaged in some retail therapy. I then came home to grilled chicken, butter beans and cheese grits for dinner! It was a very nice day with my two favorite people.

Do I look the babysitter or what? I feel like strangers would never guess she was my daughter!
