Opinions PLEASE!

I have found the most beautiful fabric (Lily & Will by Bunny Hill) for baby boy's room! I am going to make bumpers, a dust ruffle, and a couple of fitted sheets myself (Lord willing). But I DESPISE making choices about what fabric to go where! We are in a rental so I can't paint walls or really even do window treatments. I could probably do a valance but it's the bedding I'm concerned about right now. I need some suggestions. I have looked at this fabric until my eyes crossed.

Here is the bedding from the designer herself. My faves are the brown and blue damask on the valance, the bunnies, and the stripe in the bedskirt. I really want to use these 3 somewhere in the bedding. However, I really feel like the skirt is too light compared to the bunnies on top and I do know that I want the bunnies on the outside of the bumper. This combo has the blue with brown dots on the inside bumper.

Here are the new aqua and yellow colors just to give another look of it all together. See how light the skirts look compared to the bumper! Does this even matter? Am I going crazy?

So here's what I was thinking: Bunnies on outside bumper, stripe on inside, brown on blue damask for the skirt (this is what is questionable. will this be too dark? too busy? i LOVE it though.), something ivory for the sheet (like the brown baby's breath on ivory or the blue swirls on ivory above), and fat cording and big ties maybe in the brown-on-brown dots above. Or would solid chocolate look better like in the full set photos? I would really like it to all come from the website linked above. She has the best prices and since I live in rural AR (and am 6 months pregnant), I do not feel like driving all over America searching for the perfect solid chocolate brown.

I am sure that I could pick any combo and it would look FINE, but I would like a few opinions, so if you have time, please let me know what your favorite combination is!

Okay, you asked.....I LOVE this fabric! Gorgeous! I agree about the stripe...just is too light to go on the dust ruffle. I feel like it needs "anchoring" or something. I know that probably doesn't make any sense, but just know that I agree that you need something darker on the bottom! I think the damask will look good on the bottom, and when it all boils down to it, isn't it about what you really love? I think your choices will look great! I do think I'd prefer the solid chocolate for the cording and ties, maybe even something in a minky type fabric, if you could make it work. I don't know enough about sewing to know how easy/difficult that stuff is to work with. Regardless, I think it all going to look GREAT!

Maybe do a solid brown skirt so the bumper fabric will really pop? 6-months...where did the time go? and, a BOY...awesome.

I ADORE this fabric! Loved it from the moment I saw it in my local quilt shop. I use the blue/brown and pink/brown pin dot fabrics on a lot of my applique designs. Did I mention I LOVE this fabric line??? *swoon*

I would definitely go with a solid brown for the bedskirt, but if you go that route, I would do something less bold for the trim...like maybe the brown dots on blue. That way it doesn't scream "BROWN" when you look at it but would all flow together very nicely. If you are afraid of the solid not matching by ordering from a website, I would be more than happy to go pick out what you need and mail it to you. My quilt store is about 5 minutes from my house and it's no trouble at all! Shoot me an email with your list of patterned fabrics and I can pick a solid brown to match it! ;-)

ok- so here it is....my official opinion.
Bumper outside-bunnies
bumper inside-stripe
trim and skirt-brown dot
sheet-ivory with brown dot

Have you seen when they put a solid strip on the inside of the bumper and monogram it? That could look cute! Like a brown strip of fabric and a matching light blue monogram!

Can't wait to see what you decide! I am sure it will look great!

I love the damask! I think it would be great as a bedskirt, but I think that in order to make it work, you'd have to go with a solid blue for the crib sheet (like in the first picture). That would blend the bunny fabric and the damask (since they're both on blue) and separate the two bold designs.

This fabric is all so pretty! And look at you all crafty and junk...making it yourself! I really like your fabric choices. However, my only concern is that the damask bedskirt might be too busy against the bunnies (like you mentioned)I like the idea of brown piping and bows and the bedskirt matching the ties. I think either the brown polka dot or a solid brown would be good. I know you really like the damask so maybe you could makes window treatments or an accent pillow for a chair out of it? Also, taupe walls would look really elegant with this bedding! Have you thought about paint?

Oops. I just saw where you said you can't paint or really put up window treatments.
