Baby Mark

On August 17, my younger sister, Mary Ashley, and her husband Joe, welcomed a baby boy into the world. He weighed 8lbs 10 oz and was 19 inches long. They named him Mark after my dad. We traveled to Dothan the following weekend to visit Sipsey's first and only cousin and mine and Ben's first and only nephew! Sipsey LOVED this baby. She loves baby dolls anyway, and to see a real-life baby was one of the highlights of her short life. As I was holding the baby and showing him to Sipsey, she gently took his tiny pinkie finger and said, "wee wee wee," as in "This little piggy went to market!" It was so cute! She also loved to pat his hair and kiss his sweet head. She woke up each morning asking for "baby," and watched intently as he got his diaper and/or clothes changed. Here are some pictures of my youngest cousin Carly holding Mark with Sipsey's assistance :). There are some of me holding him in which I look horrible, so I have spared you from seeing them!

So cute! I love that he is named after your dad. Matthew's middle name is Jake, after my dad, who passed away when I was 10.

Look at that hair...sweet baby. It is hard to believe they are ever that small. They grow way too fast. Sipsey is going to be a sweet cousin, get her ready to be a big sis one day.

Hey Lauren,
Thanks for the congrats. We are excited/scared/nervous and all that GOOD stuff.
So, if it's a girl...I'm going to take you up on making her some cute BAMA game day gear. Sipsey always looks adorable in the outfits you make.
How do I get in touch with Anna Barron? Is her blog gone?
